TK Science

Our play-based science program for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) invites young learners to explore the world around them through fun, age-appropriate activities. Children investigate real science concepts—like plants, animals, weather, and motion—through play, storytelling, songs, and sensory experiences. With a focus on wonder and discovery, our program builds early science skills and critical thinking while supporting language development and social-emotional growth. In TK, we aim to spark curiosity and develop a love of learning through hands-on exploration!

Below are a few of the science themes we introduce in TK—but we also like to leave room to follow the children’s interests as they emerge and evolve throughout the year.

A young girl with brown hair smelling a green plant outdoors on a sunny day.
Children playing with blue slime, stretching and squeezing it over a blue container, with their hands covered in slime.
Child pushing a toy wheelbarrow outdoors on a sidewalk with trees and mountains in the background.
